ABOUT COLLEGE:

Our College is Premier College imparting quality education since 1960; and established by a pious soul Swami Brahmanand Ji, who was considered one of the great freedom fighters & social reformers of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. The tenets उधौगिनं पुरुषसिंहमुपैति लक्ष्मी:” (“Udygoginam Purusinghmupaiti Lakshmi”) has become a way of life. The dedication of the faculties and students is to achieve their goal of life with hard work and honesty only. The focus of the College is to develop such an atmosphere, where students grasp the knowledge and build their character. Besides, BRAHMANAD is held for students and staff members to instill in them a sense of self-discipline.

The College is managed by sincere guidance of Dr. IP Singh, President, and his cabinet of the Managing Committee of “The Managing Committee of the Brahmanand Vidhyalay Degree College, Rath Hamirpur U.P.-210431 with the divine blessings of Swami Brahmanand Ji. The College is located on a sprawling 105 acres campus in a green serene environment, and the College has more than 706 acres of agri-horticultural land.

The College aims at imparting education to all sections of the society regardless of gender, socio-economic conditions, and caste. It believes that quality education will help them in becoming an independent and integral part of the society who contributes towards agricultural and science education to contribute to the development of the local community as well as the country.

The Brahmanand Mahavidyalay (BNV College) is the only college of the Bundelkhand University that has to transform itself as Agriculture College initially; letter on added Science, Commerce, Education and Home Science streams and become a complete institution of higher education in teaching and learning. To enrich the students’ knowledge from a contemporary angle; prominent experts from academics, business, and industry are invited around the year.

The institution “Brahmanand Mahaviyalaya” (BNV College), Rath (Hamirpur) UP was established in 1960 by a pious soul Swami “Brahmanand ji” who was considered one of the great social reformers of the Bundelkhand region. Its present status is a “Government aided non-Government” teaching-learning institute recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) & 12(b), accredited by NAAC, and affiliated with Bundelkhand University, Jhansi. The college is situated in socially, economically and educationally backward Bundelkhand region ( 230 8’-26031’N latitude and 78011´-81030´ E longitude)  comprising six districts of southern Uttar Pradesh (Lalitpur, Jhansi, Jaluan, Hamirpur Mahoba, and Banda districts) and seven districts of Madhya Pradesh  (Datiya, Tikamgarh, Chatterpur, Panna, Damoh, Guna, and Sagar). It is well connected by roads from Jhansi (139 km.), Kanpur (160 Km.), Mahoba (60 Km.). Rath is 42 Km away from Harpalpur, 55 Km from Orai and 60 Km from Ragaul railway stations.


Highlights:

  1. The College established in 1960 and affiliated to Agra University then Kanpur University; later on Bundelkhand University. College focused on Agriculture and Rural development
  2. The college has vast area and super build up building with necessary infrastructure; and premier college since 1960.
  3. At present the College is offering B.Sc. (Ag), B.Sc. Math & Bio, B.Com, B. Ed, B.Sc. (Home Science) and six PG courses as Sc. (Ag) in Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Agril. Economics, Plant Entomology, Plant Pathology; and Ph.D/Research in courses in relevant subjects.
  4. The present student strength in the college is 1481.
  5. Despite being the Govt. aided non Govt. teaching institute, our College faculty members are doing quality teaching cum research and having good reputaion in society.
  6. The College has a huge campus of 105 acre, while 4.23 acres is the super built up area with 83 rooms including 25 lecture rooms, 25 laboratories, 28 staff rooms, 2 big halls, 2 smart lecture rooms, 2 two computer lab and 1 auditorium cum examination hall known as Brahmanad Akhand Mandir hall.
  7. The College has large agricultural farm of 706.86 acre, including 350 acre horticultural farm, 2.15 acres animal husbandry and remaining agriculture farm for experiment practices for UG, PG and research scholar.
  8. The College has a one play ground, 4 Hostels, 4 staff quarter, Guest house and Vyayamshala, most of them are highly placed in their own campus.
  9. The College has a one central library, one book bank and 3 sectional libraries with around 17843 books and periodicals.
  10. The College students do exceedingly well in NCC, NSS and Rovers & Rangers activities.
  11. Overall, the college promote sustainable, ecologically friendly and equitable socio-economically development through education.
